The Best Wine For A Chicken And Swiss Cheese Dish

If you are a connoisseur of wines then you most likely know exactly which wines to pair with which foods. For those of us that are not, then how do you know? You can try to just order something and come out not only looking like a fool but also have a completely horrible mix for your wine and food, or you can ask what is recommended with the particular dish you are ordering. You can also do a little research and be prepared.
Wines fall into a few categories: White, red and specialties that include those not previously classed under red and white.
For a white meat such as chicken, you would probably want to look at a white Chardonnay if you are in the mood for a wine that is a dry wine but also medium to full bodied. If you want a more light bodied wine, try a Chenin Blanc.
For the cheese part of the dish, a red such as a Cabernet Sauvignon (very dry and tannic) will work, but not so well with the chicken. A Pinot Noir is a dry, light bodied wine with little tannin which gives a silky feeling going down. Pinots are also good with cheeses as well as chicken.
In the sparkling wine category there is a wine called a Brut which is actually a type of mix between a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir that will probably suit your needs perfectly as it goes well with both chicken and cheeses.
As you can see, even if there are wines that you do not care for, there are also enough wines to choose for your dish that will not only go perfectly with the cuisine, but also please even the most delicate of palates.
